The UQ School of ITEE offers robotics workshops for students and teachers. The teacher workshops have been designed to offer in-service robotics training for teachers who are keen to support their students to actively participate in the area of robotics. The student workshops encourage the development of problem solving skills and enhance interest in technology. The workshops support the Science and Mathematics curriculum by improving the analytical and problem solving skills of students. They also complement the new Technology curriculum by providing a project-based learning activity.

Artificial Intelligence workshops introduce upper secondary students (Years 8-12) to intelligent robotic systems and advanced programming concepts, engaging students in analytical and creative thinking as well as practical problem solving. All robots are built by the students and a 'survival of the fittest' challenge is a workshop highlight. Teachers also welcome at this workshop.

  • gain hands-on experience in building & programming robots
  • develop skills in robotics to take back to the classroom
  • stimulate interest in science & technology
  • explore new career opportunities in robotics & technology
