Vertumnalia: Carpe Noctem Series II, 9 August 2012
On the 9th of August, the rites of Vertumnus bring lyre and lyric from the woods of rustic Latium. Seasons change as fast as faces, bringing forth the bounty of crop and bough. Once a god of old Tusculum, Vertumnus, master of change, revels in his pastoral triumphs.
Winter’s chill is still upon us, but the RD Milns Antiquities Museum can sense a change in the air. It’s time once more to ‘seize the night’ for the second of this year’s Carpe Noctem Series. So grab your lyre, bedeck your hair with sprays of golden leaf, and join us in the Museum to celebrate the Vertumnalia.
Vertumnalia will include light refreshments in the Level 2 Foyer of the Michie Building.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the door.
