School Activities

The range of undergraduate programs and courses available to students within the School is extremely large. Accordingly, students should think carefully about their interests and about the careers they wish to pursue before making their selections.

It is possible to specialise in courses predominantly within one subject area, and in such cases students should consider carefully the rules governing Majors and Double Majors. Alternatively, students may spread their interests across more than one discipline; in such cases, they should investigate the possible inter-relationships between different courses to ensure that they undertake the best "mix".

As a first step, students could decide where their primary interests lie: in History, in Philosophy, in Religion, or in the Classics and Ancient History. Then, using the material available on this website, they may plan their studies to best advantage.

Once you have a reasonably clear idea of what you want to do, it would be advisable to discuss your aims with relevant staff before finalising your choices.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, you may view and/or print a brochure about Undergraduate opportunities in the School (Please note that if you are connected by modem, depending upon the speed of connection the page may take up to 80 seconds to load). If not, and you wish to download and install the Reader, click on the Acrobat button below.
