IMMUNISATION & TRAVEL ADVICE -VACCINES

The UHS offers vaccinations for various courses of study for students to minimise health risks. Students need to make an appointment with one of our GPs to discuss the requirements for their course.

Some students, eg medical, dental and veterinary science, have special vaccination requirements to protect them from certain diseases. Hepatitis B vaccination is available at the UHS for medical and dental students. The UHS run regular Q Fever vaccination programs for veterinary and other students working with animals.

All vaccinations must be ordered by a doctor and can then be administered by one of the registered nurses here at UHS. Information on various diseases including Hepatitis A, B, and C, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, etc is available on the Queensland Government site.
