IMMUNISATION & TRAVEL ADVICE - MALARIA

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by a protozoa which infects the liver and spreads to the red blood cells. It is spread through the bite of the anepheles mosquito.

Antimalaria drugs do not provide absolute protection so it is very important to avoid mosquito bites.

For more information on Malaria visit the Queensland Government site.
