Costs

Domestic students International students Staff

Students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents and hold a current Medicare card are "bulk-billed" or direct billed through medicare for consultations.

Costs of immunisations and medications are the responsibility of the student.    

With current OSHC Worldcare or Medibank Private cards:

Patient will be direct-billed for consultations.

Without current OSHC and UQ student card:

Patient must pay for their visit and claim the refund later.

Costs of immunisations and medications are the responsibility of the patient.   

For general consultations

St Lucia staff pay a fee for service.  Gatton staff are bulk-billed.

Under Employee Assistance Scheme or for work-related injury/medical conditions

Staff will be bulk-billed or have their account paid by the appropriate authority.

For work-related travel consultations and immunisations

Staff are to pay at time of consultation and then be refunded by the appropriated school or faculty.

Any relevant expenses are payable on the day of service by cash, cheque, credit card or eftpos.

Failure to settle the account on the date of service will incur a further administration fee of $10.00.

All patients are responsible for any vaccine payments.

Pharmaceutical costs are the responsibility of the patient. Many students are eligible for a Health Care Card which provides additional benefits. Students should seek advice about eligibility for a Health Care Card from Centrelink.
