dots Physiotherapists work with individuals who have physical disabilities and those for whom pain or loss of function is caused by a physical disorder. These disabilities and disorders can arise from injury, illness, congenital abnormalities, aging, or degenerative processes. Physiotherapists work with people of all ages in promoting motor development and coordination, improved balance and motor control, or pain reduction for improved movement. Specialist areas include: sports medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics, and orthopaedics.
