Audiologists specialise in hearing and work with adults and children who are deaf or hearing impaired.  They conduct hearing assessments, and assist people who have a hearing impairment by providing informational counselling, education about communication, and by prescribing and fitting devices (e.g., hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices). 

Audiologists work in settings such as:
