About the Centre
The Centre for Health Innovation and Solutions (CHIS) is a Centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences, lead by Professor Lynn Robinson. CHIS's mission is to provide innovative solutions to the critical workforce issues which face health now and into the future.
Achievements of the CHIS team include:
• National clinical quality improvement projects (asthma, mental health and cardiovascular risk factor management)
• Leading provider of professional development education for GPs and Pharmacists (via the PriMeD online program)
• Large scale clinical workforce development programs for Queensland Health.
CHIS activities fall within five key themes:
• Lifelong learning for health professionals

• Health workforce capacity and productivity
o Orientation and continuing professional development for overseas trained clinicians
o Team work and role definitions
• Quality improvement and patient safety
o National CQI projects
o Clinical practice guideline implementation

• Innovative, scalable systems to support the above.
