Being exam-ready means that:
- You have a thorough understanding
of the subject; and
- You have exam know-how.
Although it's sometimes sufficient
to just recall information to answer exam questions, in the
majority of cases you will
be asked to do something with your knowledge. This will
include analysing information and making informed judgements,
applying
information to specific situations, solving problems,
making recommendations and the like.
You are exam-ready when
you can use your knowledge and not simply recall it. This
is a bit like the difference
between
knowing
the tennis coaching manual off by heart and actually
being able to play a decent game of tennis.
