Navigation

When you open the program you will see this screen…

By using the menu on the left hand side of the screen you can access the:

  • Learners Guide – where you will find information about the Skills Assessment for Computer based Learning resource.
  • Learners Desk  - where you can access all the self-assessment activities.
  • References – where you will find a range of text references and web-links that may be useful in providing additional information about computer based learning.
  • Credits – where you will find details of those who contributed to the development of the resource

When you click on the “Learners Desk” you will see this screen…

If you roll your mouse over the graphic of the learners desk the name of the activities associated with a particular area will appear. In the example screen below the title for the activity “Naming Components” which assesses your ability to Identify Computer Hardware appears when you roll your mouse over the graphic of the CPU. Clicking on the words “Naming Components” will launch the activity.

Alternatively you can select the activities you wish to complete from the Activity Selector on the left of the screen.  If you click on the heading Identify Computer Hardware the activity name “Naming Components” will appear under the heading. By clicking on “Naming Components” the activity will launch.

Hint: When the activity appears read the hint in red writing before you commence the activity.

When you have completed the activity you can select another activity from the Activity Selector on the left of your screen or go back to the learner’s desk by clicking on the link Back to Learners Desk located at the top right of your screen and making your selection from there.

You are able to continue in this way until you have completed all the activities. You can do the activities as many times as you wish and in any order that you wish. If you are completing this skills assessment in a flexible learning centre or at the premises of a Training Provider you may be asked to complete the activities in a set order. Please check this with your training provider.
