Healey, Justin (ed) (2002) Stress, Rozelle, NSW: Spinney Press.
Stress examines the major causes of tension in our lives, including the effects of stress on young people and students in particular. It discusses goal setting, time management and other strategies for recognizing and dealing with stress.

Fox, Bronwyn (2001) Power over panic: freedom from panic/anxiety related disorders, Frenchs Forest, NSW: Prentice Hall/Pearson Education Australia.
A popular and easy to read reference outlining five steps to recovery from anxiety and stress.

Jacobs, Gregg (2003) The ancestral mind: reclaim the power, New York, Viking.
A fascinating book that argues that our reliance on the 'Thinking Mind' to the exclusion of what the author calls the 'The Ancestral Mind' has led to a preoccupation with either the past or the future and lives that are full of tension and anxiety. By tapping into the 'Ancestral Mind' he believes that we can learn to deal more effectively with stress and live more fully in the present.

This recording includes guided meditation, using breathing and imaging, for relaxation and to help face challenges.

"A man's guide to positive, healthy living." This book examines the most common causes and effect of anxiety and tension on men, and presents strategies for dealing with it.

Seaward, Brian Luke (2002) Managing stress: principles and strategies for health and well-being, 3rd ed., Boston: Jones and Bartlett Publishers.
An excellent and comprehensive resource which analyses the principles and strategies for health and well being using a self-assessment approach. It includes information on a wide range of strategies including breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, tai chi, mental imagery and visualization, the therapies of music, massage, art and humour, clinical biofeedback, exercise, nutrition, problem solving, time management and communication skills.

Surviving student stress [videorecording] (1998) Camberwell, Vic.: Learning Essentials.
This program explores the key aspects of the increasingly common complaint of study stress, explaining what it is, what causes it and what are some typical signs or symptoms to be wary of. Students, parents and teachers are also shown some very practical ways to help ease the load.

Time management [videorecording] (1993) Williamstown, Vic,: Appleseed Productions.
This videocassette looks at time management for students and suggests ways to budget time, organize work and plan goals.
