Your Phone Account
You will need to put money onto your telephone account to activate the phone. You can do this at the Halls’ Office by cash, EFTPOS.
When the balance in your account hits zero during a call you will be able to complete the call you are on but will be unable to make further calls until more credit is placed on your phone account. You must have a balance of $4-00 in your phone account to make a STD phone call and $1-00 to make a local phone call.
How to make an outside call

dial 0
-
the number you are phoning
-
there will be a change in dial tone

input your PIN number (on front of Registration Pack or Voice Mail User Guide)

the call will be connected.
10 Second Grace Period
If you are making a call you will not be charged if you stay on the line 10 seconds or less. If you are phoning someone and they do not answer within 10 seconds hang up and try again otherwise you will be charged for the call.

Voice Mail
To turn your Voice Mail on please lift the handset and press *23 and replace the handset. Your phone will ring 5 to 6 times before being transferred to Voice Mail.

If you are having problems with your phone
If you can’t receive calls in on your phone please try this:

Lift handset, press # 1 and replace handset; lift handset, press # 2 and replace handset; continue this process through to 9.

Reset your Voice Mail by lifting the handset and pressing *23 and replace the handset.
If you have forgotten or misplaced your PIN number please contact the Halls’ Office.
Statements/Balances
If you would like a print out of the calls you have made and the balance you have left in your account please contact the Halls’ Office. Your balance can also be accessed by phoning the Voice Mail extension 2799 (refer to the Voice Mail User Guide sheet Click Here ).
Contacting or being contacted by someone within the University
To contact someone within the University you will need to dial 8 then the 5 (five) digit extension number.
For someone to contact you from within the University they will need to dial 808 and the four numbers of your extension.
For someone in another Hall they need to dial your four digit extension number.
