Graduation ceremonies are very significant to the University because they represent an important way of recognising graduates' achievements and building lifelong relationships with them.

Consequently, graduates' stories are regularly sought for in-house publications including UQ News and Graduate Contact magazine as well as for the wider media.

If you have an interesting story to tell, please contact the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) in the lead-up to your graduation ceremony.

Examples of interesting stories may include a thesis of particular relevance or application to the wider community; a situation where adversity has been overcome to achieve a degree and/or to graduate; and/or examples of outstanding academic results achieved during study at UQ.

If OMC staff decide a particular story has news value, they will work closely with graduating students, their supervisors and student progression to ensure the story presented is an accurate reflection of their work and experiences.
