CERTIFICATES/TESTAMURS

If you attend your graduation ceremony, you will receive your certificate at the ceremony. You will also receive a copy of your academic transcript with the compliments of the University.

If you do not attend your graduation ceremony, you will be graduated in absentia and your certificate and transcript will be mailed from the University in August (for the mid-year Graduation ceremonies) or in January (for the end of year Graduation ceremonies).   Please note that we will send your certificate and transcript to the mailing address you have listed in mySI-net so it is important that you keep this up to date.

If you elect to defer attending a graduation ceremony you will still be graduated in absentia and your testamur and transcript mailed to you. This does not affect your ability to attend a later graduation ceremony. For example, if you are eligible to graduate in July 2011 but elect to defer attending a graduation ceremony until December2011, you will:

  • be conferred your award at the July 2011 ceremony
  • receive your transcript and testamur in the mail during August 2011
  • receive information about the December 2011 ceremony during late October 2011

Testamurs are sent by standard mail within Australia and by Airmail or EMS Courier to international addresses.

AHEGS

From December 2010, all UQ graduates will receive a complimentary copy of their Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) upon graduation.

The AHEGS was implemented to assist in national and international recognition of Australian qualifications and to promote international mobility and professional recognition of graduates. The University’s AHEGS provide details of a graduate’s degree, a statement about the University, a list of the student’s course achievements relevant to the degree from which they graduated, and details of the Australian Higher Education Sector as supplied by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).

Replacement charges
Should you require a replacement AHEGS, the following fee structure will apply:

  • Replacement AHEGS produced in 5 hours $25
  • Replacement AHEGS produced in 3-5 working days $15

Please use the Application for Academic Record facility to request a replacement AHEGS.
