University of Queensland Research Scholarship (UQRS) for commencing candidates


Purpose: To provide a living allowance for high-quality research higher degree candidates at admission to candidature.

Value: $22,500 per annum (2010 rate). The UQRS is indexed annually.

Closing Date: None. All applicants who request living allowance financial support on their Application for Admission and Enrolment are considered for this scholarship.

Source of Funding: The University of Queensland.

Basis of Award: Academic merit; research experience and/or potential; match with University research strengths.

Eligibility: To hold this scholarship, you must

  • if an international applicant, have a tuition fee scholarship (such as the IPRS or the UQIRTA).
  • not hold an Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) scholarship.
