Transfer of Scholarship

Scholarships awarded by The University of Queensland cannot be transferred to another institution.

Termination of Scholarship

Your scholarship is terminated at the end of the pay period in which your thesis is submitted for examination or your scholarship expires, whichever occurs first.

In addition, your scholarship is terminated if any of the following circumstances arise.

(a) The Dean of the UQ Graduate School determines that you

  • are not carrying out your program of research and study with diligence, or
  • are not making satisfactory progress, or
  • have not complied with the terms and conditions of your scholarship, or
  • did not meet the eligibility criteria for award of your scholarship;

(b) The Dean of the UQ Graduate Schools withdraws or terminates your research higher degree candidature;

(c) You relinquish your scholarship or withdraw from candidature;

(d) You cease to be a full-time scholar and have not obtained approval to hold the scholarship on a part-time basis;

(e) You do not resume study at the conclusion of a period of leave and have not made arrangements to extend that period of leave;

(f) On your incapacity or death.

Payments cease from the date of termination of the scholarship. Once terminated, a scholarship cannot be reactivated.

If you relinquish a scholarship within 3 months of commencement, you may be required to refund all or part of the University's contribution to establishment and relocation expenses.
