Response to Offer of a Place/Scholarship

If you have been made an offer of research higher degree candidature and/or an offer of a scholarship by The University of Queensland you must formally accept or decline the offer(s).  Please complete one or both of the following forms within two weeks of the offer letter date.  Note that your offer letter may set candidature or scholarship conditions that need to be met  by a different due date.

If you accept your offer but cannot commence your candidature and/or scholarship by the previously agreed date, please email your advisory team, enrolling school/institute, and the Research Higher Degrees Unit and advise

  1. the reason(s) why you cannot commence your candidature as originally planned, and
  2. when in the next 6 months you now intend to commence your candidature.

If your revised commencement date is more than 1 month after your previously agreed commencement date, your request must be formally endorsed by the advisory team and enrolling school/institute, then formally approved by the Dean, UQ Graduate School. Your revised commencement date cannot be more than 6 months after your previously agreed commencement date: if you are unable to commence your candidature within 6 months, you are considered to have withdrawn your application and must re-apply for admission when your circumstances have changed and you are able to commence your candidature.

In addition, if you have been offered an APA or UQ scholarship that is allocated for a specific year, you automatically relinquish your scholarship if your revised commencement date is for the following year (for example, your original commencement date was 1 November 2007, and your revised commencement date is 1 February 2008). However, your application is automatically re-assessed for inclusion in the following year's order of merit, and you may be issued a new scholarship offer for your revised commencement date.
