Research Study Abroad
This model was introduced to allow doctoral and master candidates at other universities to enrol as non-award student at The University of Queensland for up to 1 year. Key features of research study abroad include:
-
the candidate pays tuition fees at The University of Queensland,
-
the candidate is enrolled as a non-award student on SI-net,
-
the candidate does not have to comply with the progression requirements of The University of Queensland,
-
as a non-award student, the candidate is not awarded a degree by The University of Queensland, but can obtain an academic transcript.
Universitas 21 Visiting Postgraduate Research Students coming to The University of Queensland do so as research study abroad candidates.
To become a Research Study Abroad candidate, follow the how to apply process. Advise your potential advisor, and the School or Institute, that you are already enrolled in a research higher degree at your home university, and that you are interested in attending UQ as a research study abroad candidate.
When you complete the application form, attach:
- a letter of support from your supervisor at your home university,

- if applicable, certified documentary evidence of funding from your home university for UQ tuition fees.
