| Further Information: | These grants do not fund essential research travel (e.g. fieldwork) signalled in the initial research proposal since that should be met from other grants or school funds; GSRTGs are not intended for consultation and conference travel will not be funded. Preference will be given to travel that was unforeseen at the time of or after confirmation of candidature. Travel to workshops where new specialist techniques are taught may be funded in special cases: these require a strong and well supported argument, clearly indicating how this training will benefit the quality and timely submission of the thesis. Successful applicants must be enrolled full-time for the duration of their travel and travel must commence within 6 months of the grant being offered. |
| Candidates enrolled in a PhD by Cotutelle, in International Collaborative Mode or in a similar international collaborative arrangement must satisfy the same eligibility criteria as all other GSRTG applicants. Applicants should have alternate arrangements in place in the event of an unsuccessful application. Successful candidates will be advised in writing. Please note: Processing of payment may take up to 4 weeks. |
