Graduate School Office Space for Candidates

Since 1995 the Dean,UQ Graduate School, has been able to allocate University space to research higher degree (RHD) students to supplement school workspace. These Graduate School offices accommodate changing needs and resources, and provide a variety of types of workspaces to suit the needs of graduate students at different phases of their work.

In 2009 there is a total of 381 office spaces for RHD students in the following buildings;

  • Hartley Teakle (level 5),
  • Gordon Greenwood(Level 6),
  • General Purpose North (Level 4),
  • General Purpose South (Levels 2,3 and 4),
  • Old Computer Science (Levels 5 and 6),
  • Social Sciences (Level 3), and
  • Social Science Annexe.

For more information about Graduate School office space for RHD candidates, contact your school manager in the first instance.

The Social Sciences and Humanities Library (SS&H) offers Postgraduate Study Spaces established on Levels 4 and 5 of the Duhig Tower. The SS&H Library provides several small rooms, lockable credenzas, plenty of power points for computers, facilities for docking PCs, and some on-site PCs. It is an ideal area for those needing some quiet working space near to library resources for their early bibliographical searches and literature survey work, or for "writing up." The staff of the Fryer Library (Level 4) take care of keys and bookings.
