PhD and MPhil applicants are required to achieve an appropriate level of proficiency in academic English before they can commence their research higher degree program. All applicants must comply with the English Language Proficiency Admission Requirements for University Programs. In particular, international applicants must comply with the requirements set out in the International Education Directorate's English proficiency requirements.

Please note that the University's admission requirements are minimum standards: some school and disciplines may require a higher level of achievement for admission.
