| Please note that post-award administration of a CRC scholarship is the responsibility of the student's enrolling School, and not Research & Research Training Division. | |
| It is recommended that CRC scholarship Conditions of Award follow the standard UQ Research Scholarships General Conditions. | |
| It is important to note that there should always be a formal written agreement between the CRC and UQ to administer CRC funded scholarships. This is necessary to preserve tax free status. Without a formal agreement a student will either be in breach of tax law, or be significantly disadvantaged financially. This agreement should be initiated between the CRC and the School/Institute relevant to the academic supervisor of the potential research higher degree student(s). Legal review and final University sign off is administered through Research Legal Services, RRTD. | |
Students will normally be required to assign their intellectual property (IP) and enter into a confidentiality agreement, as a condition of the award. This will be encompassed in a separate ‘Student Agreement’. If the IP assignment is to UQ, then the agreement should be initiated by the relevant School/Institute. Legal review and final University sign off will be administered through Research Legal Services, RRTD. Send all nececssary documents to Research Legal Services, RRTD. Please include the following with the documentation: - Statement from the student's Principal Advisor confirming that the commercial terms contained in the agreement (eg terms of the agreement, nature of the project, milestones to be satisfied, timing for delivery of milestones and reports and all financial figures) are correct. |
Once all necessary documents have been received and been executed (signed) by the University’s authorised signatory: |
| 1. Research Legal Services, Research & Research Training Division (RRTD) will return the original copy of the fully signed legal documents to the enrolling School. 2. The School will need to contact Research Accounting, Business Services, to establish an account for receipt of scholarship funds. |
| The School's Research Higher Degree administrative contact will be responsible for on-going administration of the scholarship. | |
| If the IP assignment is to the CRC, then the agreement should be facilitated by liaison between the student, the relevant School/Institute and the CRC, with legal review and final sign off being the responsibility of the CRC entity. | |
| If there are concerns that a student's previous or current employment may conflict with the scholarship Conditions of Award, please contact your Faculty Human Resources Officer for advice. |
