Scholarship: Alumni Association - Elizabeth Usher Memorial Travelling Scholarship 2007
Closes: 20 June 2008 at Research Scholarships
Purpose and Value of Award: This scholarship, valued at $2,500, is available in 2008 to assist a research higher degree student to travel overseas to present a research paper or poster at an international conference so that Australia may benefit from the knowledge and experience gained.
Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have graduated from UQ no more than 5 years ago.
  • Applicants must be enrolled (full-time or part-time) for a PhD.
  • Applicants must be in their second or third full-time equivalent year of study for the PhD.

Consideration will be given to the applicant's work during the entire postgraduate career, his/her aptitude for original research and the extent to which participation in this conference will benefit Australia.
 

The successful applicant will be selected by the Dean, UQ Graduate School or his delegate.

Competition for this scholarship is intense and there is no guarantee of success (there is one scholarship only).
Application Procedure: 
  • Application must be submitted on the official application form
  • Full disclosure of all applications for other scholarships is required.
  • Use plain English - ensure statements can be understood by those outside your field.
  • Additional documentation will not be accepted.  Do not include a CV.
