In the QGECE Stakeholders Workshop on 17 March 2010 (which some of you attended), we received very good support for the proposal to build a skid-mounted geothermal plant that can be trucked to geothermal sites and can be used to demonstrate the power generation potential from a given geothermal resource.
As the first step towards this objective, we would like to have a meeting with the people interested in this project. The purpose of the meeting would be to write the design specifications:
- Plant net capacity, kWe
- Type of condensers
- Cycle fluid properties (toxicity, inflammability, Greenhouse gas potential, etc)
- Geothermal fluid temperature, oC
- Geothermal fluid pressure, MPa
- Geothermal fluid chemistry (for design against corrosion, heat ex cleaning requirements, etc)
- Geothermal fluid flow rate, kg/s
- Noise levels, dB
- Dimensions
- Power requirements
- Duration of a typical test
- Plus others that may be raised in the Focus Group Meeting
The meeting will be held in the afternoon of Wednesday, 21 April. The venue will be determined after we establish how many will be in attendance.
