The scholarship is to provide assistance to meritorious students who, because of financial, personal or home circumstances might otherwise be unable to enter full-time study at UQ Gatton.

A student is an eligible applicant for the award of a scholarship in a year, if:
-          in the 2 years immediately before, the applicant completed Year 12 (or overseas equivalent); and
in that year, the applicant –
-          commences the first year of an undergraduate program offered at UQ Gatton (the primary program); and
-          is studying full-time at Gatton campus.
The scholarship is awarded to the applicant showing greatest merit as demonstrated by:
-          academic achievement in secondary school studies; and
-          any financial or personal circumstances that could impede the applicant’s academic progress.
The recipient of a scholarship may hold the scholarship for the minimum period of time it would take a student to complete the program in which the recipient is enrolled and will be paid in half-yearly instalments, subject to the student –
-          maintaining a GPA of at least 4.0 in each semester; and
-          continuing to be enrolled full-time at the Gatton campus.
During the period for which the recipient holds the scholarship, the recipient may transfer from the primary program to another program offered at UQ Gatton (the second program) if the Associate Dean (Academic), Faculty of Science (the Associate Dean) approves the transfer on the basis that they consider the transfer to be appropriate.
If the Associate Dean approves a transfer   the recipient may hold the scholarship for the minimum period of time it would take a student to complete the second program, less the period for which the recipient held the scholarship before transferring to the second program.
The value of the scholarship is $5,000 for each year for which the scholarship is held.
Submit applications, using the Gatton Scholarship Application Form, to the Gatton Student Centre.
