Each organizational unit provides network printers.  Security permissions are set to print queues restricting outside people from printing to organizational unit network printers.

It is highly recommended that network printing is used at all times, as opposed to purchasing personal printers. Personal printers are generally more costly to run. InkJet printers should be avoided. There are two reasons for this:

  1. the cost of running, consumables can be very expensive on a cost per page
  2. the diversity of consumables required to cater for different models.

How to get help

Should a staff member have a support request this should be logged with the ITS Service Desk. Your call will be recorded and assigned an ITSM case number which will be emailed to you for future reference.  Your case will be prioritized and tracked to ensure SLA response times are met.  The helpdesk should always be the point of contact and staff should not contact computing support officers (CSO) directly.
