Articulation between Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the Higher Education (HE) sectors

In 2009 the Vocational Education Centre initiated the joint delivery of vocational outcomes through academic programs.  This model provided students with both academic and vocational qualifications from one delivery mode.  Both qualifications are issued through The University Of Queensland.
G-VEC currently manages the dual accreditation with the Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Veterinary Technology with Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Wildlife and Equine programs are under review with a proposed commencement date of 2012.

Creating New Opportunities
G-VEC is also rapidly increasing its profile through managing large scale training projects for both Government and training brokers across a range of disciplines including -
• Production Horticulture
• Animal Control and Management

• Farriery
• Business Management

More recently G-VEC has been recognised for excellence in delivering programs to indigenous communities across the Torres Strait and other regional centres in Queensland and the Northern Territory at a high level, achieving exceptionally high outcomes.
