Free Range Kids is a culture and philosophy based around old fashioned values and providing experiences that heighten and stimulate children’s senses and creativity.
Free Range Kids evolved from a vision and dream of a group of people passionate about providing true, quality care. Collectively, the owners of Free Range Kids have 20 years experience in the child care industry in the development, construction, management and operation of long day care centres. Their aim is to ensure that the responsibility of caring for one of your most important people in your life, your child, is taken as the most serious role they will encounter throughout their lives.

A building is only bricks and mortar. To create an environment where children can thrive, feel safe, secure, loved and learn about the world around the, takes life and spirit. The life and spirit in our centres starts with our staff.

We believe we have chosen our staff for their unique qualities. Qualities such as vitality, enthusiasm, passion, understanding, ingenuity, creativeness and dedication shine through in our early childhood teachers. Our staff have a hugely important role in caring for your children and as such we respect, admire and reward them for their efforts. Job security is important to everyone and creates a happy work environment, therefore all staff are employed permanently in the centre. Staff are given set, rostered hours to ensure continuity of care for your children.
To ensure your child is receiving the best in care and early childhood education, staff are encouraged and supported in opportunities for professional development both during centre hours and outside centre hours. During these times the centre will endeavour to utilize consistent, familiar relief staff to the children to reduce any anxiety about unfamiliar staff in the room for both parents and children.

The life and spirit in our centres continues with our children. When you step into a place where children enjoy being, you are taken to a magical world of imagination, spontenaity and creativity. We believe children bring with them preconceived ideas about the world around them. It is important therefore to use this existing knowledge to further extend their learning through an emergent curriculum.
Curriculum…………………
An emergent curriculum is a program of activities directed by and created from the child’s knowledge. Staff at Free Range Kids will continually be alert to opportunities given to them by children for activities to further extend children’s ideas. Staff undertake observations of children throughout the day and provide the necessary resources, tools and equipment they require to put children’s thoughts into reality. Through this busy play, children are constantly learning through problem solving, communication, social negation and physical experimentation of their bodies.

Our centre is committed to establishing and maintaining valuable partnerships with parents. We encourage parents to come into the centre at any time to participate and/or observe children and staff at work and play. We value input, comments and complaints from parents which will enable us continually strive to improve our service to you and your family.
