Friday 27 June:

8.30: Departure from Beau Rivage hotel;
9.00-11.00: Visit the traditional timber work in Grand-Ventron;
11.00-12.00: Travel to Gashney through Schlucht pass; arrival in Alsace;
12.00-13.00: Traditional mountain lunch at Gashney ferme-auberge; presentation on the Regional Natural Park of Vosges;
13.30-16.00: Trekking in the Frankenthal Forest Reserve (Natural Park);

16.30-17.30: Travel from Gashney to Kintzheim;
17.30-19.00: Visit the Wine Museum and ex-voto chapel in Kinzheim;

19.00-19.10: Travel from Kinzheim to Kaysersberg;
19.10: Arrival at Les Remparts Hotel in Kaysersberg;

19.30-21.00: Traditional Alsace dinner in Kaysersberg at the Au Vieux Pressoir.

 

Saturday 28 June:

8.30-9.00: Travel from Kaysersberg to Ribeauvillé;
9.00-11.00: Visit a public forest (wildlife management, partnership with communes and small private owners through Forest Territory Charter-CFT);
11.00-11.30: Travel to Riquewhir;
11.30-12.30: Wine-tasting in a wine cellar in Riquewhir (‘Zimmer family’);
12.30-14.00: Traditional Alsace lunch in Riquewhir at the Au Tire-Bouchon;
14.00-16.00: Visit the old town and gate of Riquewhir;

16.00-16.30: Travel to Kaysersberg;
17.00-19.00: Visit a glass factory and castle ruins in Kaysersberg;
19.30-21.00: Traditional Alsace dinner in Kaysersberg at the Au Vieux Pressoir.

 

Sunday 29 June:

9.00: Depart from hotel to Strasbourg;
10.00: 1st drop-off at Strasbourg Airport;
10.30: 1st drop-off at Strasbourg Railway Station;
11.00-13.00: Tour of Strasbourg (cathedral, old city);
13.00-14.30: Traditional Alsace lunch in Strasbourg;
15.30: 2nd drop-off at Strasbourg Railway Station;
16.30: 2nd drop-off at Strasbourg Airport;
18.00: Drop-off back in Gerardmer.

Note: Mountain shoes (or at least jogging shoes) are needed for the field trips.
