- You are invited to the 2012 RoboCup Junior Queensland event being held at The University of Queensland (UQ Centre) on August 25-26 2012, hosted by UQ's School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
This year's competition offers several challenges, each emphasising both cooperative and competitive aspects. For young students, RoboCupJunior provides an exciting introduction to the field of robotics, a new way to develop technical abilities through hands-on experience with electronics, hardware and software, and a highly motivating opportunity to learn about teamwork while sharing technology with friends.
The competition provides a unique opportunity for participants with a variety of interests and strengths to work together as a team to achieve a common goal.
Registration closes 17 August (Fri)
Rules 2012
The state competition will offer the following events in 2012:
Primary Dance (up to and including year 7 students)
Primary Dance Theatre (up to and including year 7 students)
Secondary Dance
Secondary Dance Theatre
Rescue (up to and including Year 9 students)
Premier Rescue
Novice Soccer (LEGO only robots up to 1kg) Up to two years RoboCup Soccer Experience
Premier Soccer (robots up to 2.5kg)
All competitions will be using the Australian Open RoboCup Junior Rules for 2012. Note that this is a significant change for the Rescue, Premier Rescue and Soccer competitions.
