Professors Amareswar Galla, Jolanda Jetten and Justin Kenardy invite you to a roundtable discussion with members of the Cultural and Linguistic Diversity and Indigenous Australians, Gender Equity, and Disability Subcommittees of the Senate Standing Committee for Equity, Diversity and Status of Women.
They will discuss the roles and current priorities of the Subcommittees before opening up discussion to the floor.
Staff and students are welcome, particularly those currently or previously involved in equity and diversity initiatives at UQ.
Special guest facilitator is Ms Philia Polites who has been a facilitator for `Reform and Modernisation in Government`, MBA Program, ANU; Consultant for The UNSW Aboriginal Education Program project on Indigenous Cultural Exports; Manager of the ACT Women’s Centre for Health Matters; Director, Equal Employment Opportunity Unit, Public Service Commission; and Director of the Government`s Access and Equity Program within the Dept of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
She has worked with the Office of the Status of Women and Dept. of Immigration and as Executive Officer for major Commonwealth Advisory Committees on Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs. |
