Description:	We plan to have a workshop and short courses around the topic of geometric group theory, with particular emphasis on new ideas and directions of research in the field, and connections to analysis, statistics, probability, enumerative combinatorics, geometry and topology, and logic. The workshop will take place at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, from 14-18 Dec 2009. Confirmed speakers: Danny Calegari, Indira Chatterji, Daryl Cooper, Yves de Cornulier, Moon Duchin, Danny Groves, Joseph Maher, Tim Riley and Anne Thomas. Short course presenters: TBA.
