Full Description:
The seminar will cover the process of creating a data management plan for new research projects.

Speakers include Jonathan Manton, Executive Director, Mathematics, Information and Computing, Australian Research Council; Professor Deborah Terry, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Teaching and Learning; Keith Webster, University Librarian and Director of Learning Services; Belinda Weaver, Manager, UQ eSpace; Patricia McMillan, MAPS Project Manager and Elizabeth Coulter, Associate Director, Strategy & Policy, ITS.

Topics covered:
- estimating the type, frequency and amount of data for a project
- identifying project roles and responsibilities
- protocols for a data management system
- managing access to data
- risk management and data quality
- compliance with standards and legislative requirements
- sources of advice and information

The seminar is sponsored by the ORCA project, a sub-project of the Australian Partnership for Australian Repositories.
