- An important forum to discuss the scientific, practical, safety, and social issues surrounding the use of recycled water to solve our current water crisis. This forum brings together a number of key speakers and panel members from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives. The forum, organised by the Research Sub-committee of the NTEU, will be chaired by Prof Trevor Grigg (DVC, International and Development) and Dr. Howard Guille (State Secretary, NTEU).
Key speakers are Adj. Ass. Prof Ted Gardner (Qld Dept of Natural Resources, Mining and Water), Prof. Jurg Keller (Director, UQ Advanced Wastewater Management Centre), and Vicki Ross (PhD student, School of Psychology and CRC on Water Quality and Treatment).
There will also be a panel discussion including Geoff Hamilton (Gold Coast Water), Dr Gunnar Kirchhof (UQ Land and Food Sciences), Cara Beal (PhD student and member of AS/NZS Standards for Domestic On-site Wastewater Management), and Dr. Kitty van Vuuren (Centre for Critical and Cultural Studies).
