Event Description

Full Description:
From Nothing to Never: Facing Death in King Lear.

King Lear is a tragedy whose entire action is triangulated around three great negatives: ‘nothing’, ‘no cause’ and ‘never’. This talk explores the ways in which Shakespeare's tragedy, as it turns its back on traditional moralisations of ending, confronts death as mere negation -- the 'peremptory nullification' of an anti-apocalypse.
