Event Description

Full Description:
Join the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for a time of critical reflection on atrocities following the Christchurch attacks.

This is an opportunity to think out loud with other concerned people and open up a space of honest intellectual discussion. While we do not have all the answers, we in HASS teach and learn in many of the areas that form the sad backdrop to last Friday’s events.

Join us for a panel discussion this Friday where we will reflect on discourses of racism and Islamophobia, the misappropriation of history, and how we can think through Australia’s implication in New Zealand’s terrible tragedy.

Date: Friday 22 March 2019
Time: 2.00-3.30pm
Venue: Forgan Smith Building (1), Room E215 St Lucia

All students, professional and academic staff are welcome, and there will be time for discussion.

There is no need to register your attendance.
