Dr Jim Aylward is the inventor-founder of the active principle in Picato™ (Leo Pharma A/S) , a prescription drug registered for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer, with now well over 1 million patients treated world-wide. Picato is Australia’s first chemotherapeutic and has a novel mode of action. The initial research, development and commercialization occurred from Brisbane. In 2018, Jim was awarded the prestigious ATSE Clunies Ross Medal for Innovation. In his seminar, Jim will recount the path he took from the lab to commercialisation.
