Event Description

Full Description:
This is the second of a two-part presentation based on a study nested within the Para START program developed by Associate Professor Sean Tweedy, colleagues and students here at UQ. The presenters are Ms Turner Block (visiting Fulbright Postgraduate Scholar) and Dr Eimear Enright, School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences, UQ.

The second paper focuses specifically on the development of athletic identity of four young people with moderate-to-severe cerebral palsy. Data were generated across a two-year period through the Athletic Identity Measurement Scale, and semi-structured interviews with the participants and their parents. This is the first longitudinal study on athletic identity formation in a population with moderate to severe impairments that begins prior to sport initiation.
