Event Description

Full Description:
I am pleased to advise that UQ will be hosting Professor José Celso Freire Junior, Associate Provost for International Affairs and Head, International Office, Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) from 15th January to 23rd February under the Endeavour Executive Fellowship program.

Professor Freire Junior is also the current President of FAUBAI (the Brazilian Association for International Education). As such, he is uniquely positioned to provide valuable insights about Brazilian universities’ current internationalisation efforts and opportunities for collaboration with Australia, particularly with respect to the Brazilian Higher Education Internationalisation Plan recently announced by CAPES, the funding body attached to the Brazilian Ministry of Education.

Professor Freire Junior will be delivering a presentation to UQ staff interested in engaging with UNESP and with Brazil more broadly. Details of the forum are below:

Brazilian Higher Education Internationalisation: current climate and opportunities
Date: Thursday 18th January
Time: 1pm – 2:30pm
Venue: Senate, Level 5, Brian Wilson Chancellery (61A)
