Full Description:
Title: A new era for Australia-Mexico relations: Key issues and opportunities with a spotlight on education, agriculture and mining

The Australian Ambassador to Mexico, Mr David Engel will be visiting UQ as part of a program of midterm consultations and will deliver a public seminar on Wednesday 31st May. His Excellency will provide an overview of evolving Australia-Mexico relations in the current political and economic climate, and offer market insights on key opportunities for Australian industry and higher education institutions, and in particular synergies that may be leveraged through Australia’s strengths in agriculture sustainable mining and education.

Following UQ’s recent Senior Executive Mission to Mexico in April led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) Professor Iain Watson, and the Vice-Chancellor’s upcoming October mission in conjunction with Professor Watson, this seminar will offer valuable and timely reflections at a pivotal point in Australian-Mexican relations as UQ seeks to expand its engagement in Mexico across these key sectors.
