Event Description

Full Description:
Professor Tim Dunne asks - 'Public intellectuals in politics and international relations are claiming a retreat from 'grand theory' and 'big ideas'. Are they right? And if so, where have the big ideas gone? 'The title is taken from a line in a recent Washington Post article by Dan Drezner. It also echoes the EJIR special issue on 'The End of IR Theory' which Tim co-edited.

Professor Tim Dunne is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor of International Relations at the University of Queensland. He is also a Senior Researcher at the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (APR2P). Previously, he was Director of Research for the Centre 2010-2014.
