Event Description

Full Description:
FINDING YOUR NICHE with Euan Morton at The Edge Student Leadership Series:

BEL Student Employability Team (BEL SET) is excited to bring to you our next speaker for The Edge Student Leadership Series. Euan Morton is the founder of Synergies Economic Consulting, one of Australiaís largest independently owned economic consulting practices.

Euan studied Commerce-Law at UQ in the 1980ís. At that time, there were no economic consultants in Australia. The 80ís was a period of great economic reform of Australia which sparked his interest in economics.

Following the completion of his study, Euanís career began as an articled clerk at Feez Ruthning, now Allens Linklaters. At that time, he completed an economics degree at UQ. This led him to change career and for the past 20 years he has been practising as an economist, the last 12 of which at Synergies, a firm he founded in 2004.

Euan has been appointed to numerous expert panels, most recently the Vertigan Committee, reviewing the governance of Australian Energy Markets and the Great Barrier Reef Taskforce.

Euan will present at UQ St Lucia campus on the 23rd of March to share his amazing story and journey with BEL Students. Euan will talk about the accidents in history that coalesce to forge a career and the challenges setting up and running a business through a boom and then dealing with the bust. The theme of the talk will be the importance of taking the time to learn about yourself.

Euan is passionate about business so come ready to be inspired and learn one or two or perhaps a handful of tips for success.
