- Join us for the Heron Island Research Station inaugural Open Day on the 23rd of September 2015! The Research Station will be running a range of entertaining and educational events and displays to showcase the facilities available and the diverse research conducted on the Island.
Guests on Station and at the Resort can enjoy the displays from Reef Check Australia, Coral Watch, and GBRMPA's Eye on the Reef program alongside researcher presentations. Visitors will also have the chance to take a Station tour, get up close with reef animals at the touch tank, explore during a guided reef walk and win awesome prizes. Open Day provides a great opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes at a working Research Station on the Great Barrier Reef.
