Event Description
- Full Description:
- Alumni are invited to join us in celebrating this special occasion with a Centenary Dinner on Saturday 31 October 2015 from 4:00pm in UQ's new Advanced Engineering Building.
On 12 May, 1915, the Faculty of Engineering conferred Norman Austin Lloyd and Stanley James Millar with the first UQ Mechanical Engineering degrees.
2015 marks an exciting and important year for the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at UQ and for our Mechanical Engineering graduates: 100 years of graduates.
This is a wonderful opportunity for alumni of all mechanical engineering cohorts to come together, meet friends old and new, and to celebrate their time at UQ. Attendees will also hear from our two Keynote Speakers, Yassmin Abdel-Magied (BE 2011), Founder of Youth Without Borders and Arthur Chaseling (MEngSci 1968, BE 1966), Co-founder of CMP Engineers Pty Ltd. Our mechanical engineering alumni have achieved many great and notable successes since their time at UQ, and we are excited to share in celebrating these with you all at this special event.
Tickets are $50 per person and includes a three course dinner and drinks.
