Event Description

Full Description:
A/Prof. Julie Walker (University of Queensland) will be presenting an online seminar titled 'A 3D virtual business simulation for experiential learning in first year accounting' on 6 Aug 2015.

This session will describe the 3D virtual business enterprise (VBE) and its use as an experiential learning resource in a large first year accounting course. Over 900 students participated in the VBE in first semester 2015, running businesses in the virtual world and generating financial statements to report on their trading activities. The VBE is a result of a collaboration between the University of Queensland Business School and International Education Services, the original developer of the 3D business world.

Sessions are hosted by Professor Geoffrey Crisp, Dean Learning and Teaching, RMIT University and Dr Mathew Hillier, Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation, University of Queensland, Australia.

Starting 5PM QLD time for 1 hour.
