Full Description:
Cyprus is an island not only rich in ancient history, but also in modern culture, and archaeologists working on Cyprus are well placed to see connections between the past and present. This panel discussion features two Australian archaeologists with significant experience in working on Cyprus and with local Cypriot communities. From the rigours of excavating at the height of the Mediterranean summer, to the pleasures of becoming a valued part of close-knit, local communities, this panel will explore all the intricacies of 'Doing Archaeology on Modern Cyprus'.

Dr Craig Barker, Co-Director of the University of Sydney's archaeological excavations in Paphos

Dr Andrew Sneddon, Co-Director of The University of Queensland Alampra Archaeological Mission.
