Full Description:
As part of this double seminar, Dr Dominic Farris from the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences will present a talk entitled ' Going nowhere fast - Simulating accelerative locomotion on a treadmill'. Dr Farris' presentation will cover the theory and initial results of an experiment designed to assess the mechanics of simulating accelerative walking and running mechanics on a treadmill.
In the second part of the seminar, Dr Luke Kelly from the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences will present a talk entitled 'Born to run, but not on concrete! The interaction between human feet and running shoes'. The presentation will explore the function of the intrinsic foot muscles during shod and barefoot running, providing a novel mechanism for the interaction between human feet and running shoes.
