Navigating by stars, winds and waves, traditional Hawaiian Voyaging Canoe Hōkūleʻa will cover 47,000 nautical miles, 85 ports, and 26 countries as it sails around the World to promote Indigenous Knowledge, Ocean Restoration and Global Sustainability. The Captain of the Hōkūleʻa, Kālepa Baybayan, will be giving a presentation on Thursday at the Moreton Bay Research Station (MBRS), North Stradbroke Island about the vessel and the journey. Join MBRS in welcoming Hōkūleʻa to North Stradbroke Island and learn about Polynesian navigation – schools, families and community welcome!
