Historical and Philosophical Inquiry

Event Description

Full Description:
The concept of thinking is central to Hannah Arendt’s work, and the concept of attention is central to Simone Weil’s work. But what did these two philosophers actually understand by thinking and attention, respectively? In the talk, I shall attempt to show that they seem to be talking about the same thing, and that there are moral dimensions to both concepts.
